Elmwood School Joins TerraCycle Drink Pouch Brigade

We are collecting Capri Sun & Kool-Aid Jammer drink pouches to send to a company called TerraCycle so they can be recycled. Our school earns $0.02 for every drink pouch recycled. Pouches will be recycled at lunch or you can bring some from home. Please view the attached flier from TerraCycle for more information.
Elmwood School's Panther Pop-Top Pickups!

Elmwood School is collecting pop-tops for Ronald McDonald House charities. Ronald McDonald House Charities recycles the metal and uses the money to support its charity. Ronald McDonald House Charities in Chicago are trying to build the largest Ronald McDonald House in the world, right here in Chicago! Please bring your pop-tops to school to help out with this wonderful cause!
Please visit their website for more information about their charity.

Elmwood's Exciting Earth Week
Elmwood students celebrated Earth Week with many exciting activities! We participated in a spirit week - Monday was "Sock it to Pollution Day" and we wore crazy socks, Tuesday was "Turn Your Back on Litter Day" and we wore our shirts backwards, Wednesday we wore blue and green for Earth Day, Thursday was "Tie it All Together Day" and we wore ties made out of recycled items, and Friday was school spirit day. The Go Green Club held an all school assembly and performed the reader's theatre of the book "The Great Kapok Tree".
